National School Breakfast/Lunch Program

This program began on October 17, 2008. Therefore, it is important that parents of students apply on-line. If a student opts to fill out a handwritten form, he/she must return the signed application to room 129 as soon as possible.

If a student does not want free or reduced lunch or if he/she knows that he/she does not qualify, he/she must return the application signed by a parent with his/her name and write not interested across the form. This cannot be done electronically.

The Princeton Review is pleased to offer SAT and PSAT programs at Bayside High School, hosted by the PTA and offered exclusively for its students. Go to PrincetonReview.com/BaysideHS for more details.

Message from the Principal

Bayside=College

On February 24, 2009, President Obama included the following in his remarks to Congress:
"... every American will need to get more than a high school diploma. And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It's not just quitting on yourself, it's quitting on your country -- and this country needs and values the talents of every American...we will provide the support necessary for all young Americans to complete college..."

It took a while, but the national government has finally caught up to Bayside High School!

Bayside=College, an initiative begun last Fall, centers on the core belief that it is the mission of this school to ensure that all of our graduates enroll in college, prepared to persist and succeed in achieving their degrees. To this end, our clubs, teams, and other student activities are now aligned with this mission; our curriculum is undergoing constant review to support each student's postsecondary success; our teachers and administrators are engaged in continuous efforts to motivate and enthuse every student to plan for college and beyond; our counselors and support staff are providing comprehensive, hands-on assistance as students explore the exciting world of college and careers.

It is my sincere hope that visitors to this site will become as enthusiastic about Bayside=College as our school community has. On behalf of the administration, teachers, counselors, and support staff of Bayside High School, I welcome you and thank you for visiting our virtual home.

Michael Athy
Principal
